Destination Imagination (DI), a national program, is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic challenges. Each year there are 7 challenges: Technical, Scientific, Engineering, Fine Arts, Improv, Public Service, and Rising Stars for early learners Preschool thru 2nd Grade). Students work in teams to research, design, and build a solution for their preferred challenge. Students who participate in the Challenge Program have the opportunity to present their solutions at the North Sound Regional Tournament. If they qualify, teams can compete at the State Tournament. Top State Teams will qualify for Global Finals where 8,000 students from all over the world meet to showcase their solutions, celebrate creativity and have fun. This opportunity is open to ALL Dickinson and Explorer students. Teams are lead by parent volunteers and groups meet after school, on or off campus.
